In Chatillon en Bazoire during these 5 days - which included a very pleasant evening visit with dinner and breakfast back to Pete and Christine in Bazolles (they came and picked me up!), and a 3 day visit to the boat and self from son and wife (from Thailand).
Great fun, but details not really relevant to this log, except for the record.
Finally pulled out of Chatillon, and gently moved down to Panneçot - another pleasant and enjoyable run. Strong feeling - end of season is upon us!
Panneçot pleasant quiet mooring, but as so often, water too shallow against bank for Albert to lie too.
Found a bit of bank with a tree and post for mooring to, within reach of electrics which I could jump to and from Albert, and settled down.
2nd last day - the season's end is right close to us - shame. Moored up on the long pontoon in the river - currently on my own, but cannot expect that to continue! Cercy has changed - gone is the very convenient "late till 8" right opposite the top pontoons, and now the nearest is away across the bridge and down town near the bank, cash machine, etc. Sad.
But also gone is the dreadful temporarily bridge with the loose transverse decking that must have driven nearby citizens stark crazy with it's rattling with every vehicle crossing.
rained all day - intention was to use the nice pontoons to get at do necessary things to outside side of boat, in case4 I had to moor up in that anathema to narrow boats - a stern to jetty mooring - at Decize.
However, it rained all day!
Into Decize - been going so slowly and so gently that suspect there is something deliberate here on my part - all unconsciously, to go slow and lengthen the season - even if only by the odd day.
Winter mooring booked last July, but usual double take in the office "no we have no winter moorings", until insisted on display of the "book" where I had watched details entered all those months ago!
The actual mooring, if Albert can keep it, is first class. Moored side on to own pontoon, but as always left and right hand knoweth not what the other does or intends. One says move to other wintering boats, other says stay!
Stayed!
