End of December 2009         departed Heathrow on a foggy cold morning accompanied by the first snow showers of the winter.
Duly arrived Phuket for a congenial Christmas with family members normally resident in Australia and Phuket - included 3 Grand Children - 1 brand new.   Much rejoicing - extreme satisfaction all round

Phuket good fun - sea and pool swimming (water temp almost blood heat), lightest of light clothes, beer (lots), touristy things on island, real Thai food, inconclusive and unprofitable experience with pirate DVDs.

Slight hiccough - retired to hospital for 3 days over Christmas to get over personal import of heavy English type chest/sinus infection/cold.  Hospital great, super personal concert of Christmas Carols in room on Christmas afternoon given by local Christian Girls Group.   Lurgy duly cured - Grandchildren, including the brand new one, did not catch it, travel insurance paid bill.

Congenial Hogmanay - finishing with fireworks -very effectively home initiated,  - dispatched Chinese lanterns to and around the Asian Rim.

Full life during the holiday precluded staying up after 00.01hrs on 1/1/2010.

On to Western Australia in first week of January.   Bliss!!!

Happy month in WA amongst family and friends.   Swimming, more swimming, socialising ("oh! are you back?"), walking, enjoying life in that fabulous country - particularly Australia Day, and the Australian Open Tennis (on TV), sympathizing with residents in UK suffering that dreadful winter of snow and ice (but not too much) and ending up with all aches and pains in undercarriage and elsewhere (dare I chance fortune by saying it) gone.

Love these "sculptures" (sheet and bar steel) - very Australian, just erected without explanation between "E" Shed and the quay in Fremantle Port for the visitor to enjoy - this one did, and love going back each year for another look .
To enjoy the photos, blow them up.   Just left click on each one, there is far more to them than the little thumbnails show, but not well photographed - very much against the light.

Early April.  I have just checked these, and other, pictures included in recent logs on my "other" computer - (a much larger machine, with a much superior screen, but oh so slow, heavy, and old).   It looks very much as though I am doing too much to my pictures, resulting - among other things - in the little thumb-nails appearing blurred, with a halo around the main items in the image.   The blown up images appear fine and sharp, however, and the banners as well,  on this computer (small, fairly new, but with a dreadful little screen)!   I will be careful, in future, but I don't think they warrant a re-edit now - 4 days before setting out for Albert.
