Albert's Weekly Log, March (2nd half), 2009
                                     Lymington.

Undercarriage - mine - started playing up big time, and after appropriate x-rays, was submitted for hip replacement.   Was given choice of putting operation off for 3 months, so going to Albert, and coming back in summer for op, or submitting myself to the axe at once - in so far as anything medical is done "at once" in the UK these days.

No, they haven't got a waiting list for the final curtain, yet, but imagine they'll organise it soon - complete with stifling  bureaucracy and unionised staff.

Decided that returning to Albert would be unfunny with undercarriage behaving so badly, so opted for "immediate" op - 15th April as ever was.

The rail tickets?   Tough - not amused, both Eurostar and SNCF were forfeit - had bought the cheap options.   However, some joy at not having bought the British rail section - quite the most expensive part of the journey - or ordered the taxis.

Much depression - weather during this second half of the month completely changed from winter, to genuine spring - ideal for boating - aaaaaaaaaaarrrgggghhhh.

Poor Albert, still in grubby covers, in Decize.
