Regrettably,
there
is
no
change
as
yet
in
relative
locations
of
Albert,
and
crew.
The
former
is
still
dozing
in
Decize,
with
his/her
plastic
cover
-
I
suspect
-
going
soft
and
squidgey
with
the
sun
and
heat,
and
probably
getting
very
tatty.
That
cheap
plastic
from
the
brico
is
a
good
cover
for
winter,
spring
and
autumn,
but
virtually
melts
in
the
summer.
Crew,
after
a
jolly
stay in local repair establishment getting
splendid
new
hip
works,
was
comfortably
carrying
out
the
physio-terrorist's
instructions
at
home
in
Lymington,
when the
medical
mafia did a quick retrieval and
carted him off
to
Southampton.
There,
to
the
sound
of
eldritch
shrieks
of
glee
and
malice,
a
dirty
great
hole
was
cut
in the other
leg,
and
sundry
nasties removed. The area was subsequently disguised by
the vandalising of yet another area of leg, the skin obtained therefrom
being used to hide the dear ladies' (2 of them - ladies, not holes) depredations.
At
the
time
of
writing
-
mid
July
-
have
vague
hope
of
getting
back
end
of
July
to
mid
August,
but
currently
undergoing
compulsory
weekly
attendance
at
local
surgery/clinic
for slightly disgusting
dressing
changes.
The
good
folk
there
were
horrified
at
the
idea
of
"the
French"
doing
said
dressing
changes,
and
were
even
more
horrified
at
a
suggestion
of
trying
DIY.
They
appear
not
to
share
my
hopes
of
imminent
departure.
No
photos
-
camera
has not
left
case
for
3
months,
except
to
get
batteries
charged,
and
displaying
photos
of
previous
ventures
on
Continental
Waterways
feels
inappropriate.
The
banner
photo
was
taken
in
mid
winter
about
9
years
ago,
when
we
were
"Islanders"!
